Aliant Techsystems (ATK) announced the purchase of Savage for $315 million on May 13, 2013. With the purchase, Al Kasper began his tenure as CEO. ATK's Sporting Group markets firearm accessories and ammunition under brands that include Weaver Optics, Federal Premium, Speer Ammo and Blazer as well as Savage Arms.
